JJ’s experience includes operations and business development, government compliance and consulting, new client acquisition, quality assurance, and issue resolution. He has taught classes on various retirement plan-related topics and business management best practices, and written articles for the ASPPA Focus (fka ASAP), Plan Consultant magazine, and the Journal of Pension Benefits. 

JJ served as the 2025 ASPPA president and an American Retirement Association (ARA) board member. He has volunteered with the ARA PAC, ASPPA Benefits Councils, Government Affairs, Education & Examination, Membership Development, and Focus committees.

He has been married to his lovely wife Jennifer since 1998.  They have nine children, a brood of chickens and too many dogs. They live in Appling, GA, where they enjoy the fabulous combination of lake and country life. He is an ordained deacon in the Diocese of Savannah, GA. He loves the outdoors, especially running, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.  He also likes dancing, singing, and strumming the guitar.
